A new feature released September 2025 updates how sections work within the structure of a task list, no longer existing as a separate, top-level layer but rather a property of Tasks/Key Dates.
TermSheet is introducing a more dynamic approach to workflow organization with Sections. Instead of operating as a separate, top-level layer in task lists, Sections will function as adaptable labels that can be assigned to any Task or Key Date. Users will create and manage Sections directly within each task or key date, enabling efficient categorization and streamlined organization while maintaining the core task structure.
Previously, Sections were the highest-level container in the task hierarchy:
-
Section → Task → Child Task
New Structure
Sections will no longer be a standalone, top-level concept. Instead, they are being consolidated into a property of Tasks and Key Dates, functioning similar to a tag or label. All creation and management of Sections will now occur directly within the Task/Key Date creation and edit experience.
Sections will now be a field within Task / Key Date details panels as shown below
When a task/key date appears in multiple sections (as shown above), it functions as a single unified task—any updates made to the task will automatically reflect across all sections in which it is included.
