For teams that are new to TermSheet, the initial mapping of historical models / models that are in progress must be done on each individual model. If historical models are templatized use this copy/paste shortcut.
When updating models, the main challenge is updating the historical mapping to align with the newly developed mapping. In these scenarios, we can utilize excel functionality once the new mapping has been created to update the mapping in the old model.
💡Things to Consider
This shortcut will only work if the old model and the new model come from the same template. Cells must be in the same place on both of the models.
If Stabilized Yield lives on cell G34 on the old model, it must live on cell G34 on the new model.
At least one model must be mapped to copy from.
⚙️Steps
1. Open the mapped model version.2. Select the ‘TermSheet’ tab on the model

3. Select and copy column C
4. Open the unmapped model version. Select refresh fields which will create two new sheets in the workbook: "TermSheet" and "TermSheet Ignore"
5. Open the "TermSheet" tab -2.png?width=688&height=244&name=image%20(10)-2.png)
6. Paste column C from the mapped model. This will copy over the reference field formulas that point to the originally mapped model. The next step will be to remove the reference to the incorrect model.
7. Select Column C to highlight the column.
8. Use the "Find and Replace" functionality by using the hotkey shortcut Ctrl + H.
9. In the "Find What" field, enter “[*]”
10. Leave the "Replace With" field blank.
11. Select "Replace all". -1.png?width=688&height=260&name=image%20(11)-1.png)
This will remove the old spreadsheet location from the reference fields and result in the unmapped model being mapped in just a few steps.
Validate the models are functioning as expected
