Generate Excel Model from a Deal in TermSheet

Deal data from TermSheet can be pulled from TermSheet into an Excel Model to help teams save time when preparing deal documents.

🔒 Permissions

Any user with access to a deal can generate an Excel model from a deal.

Admin Role has access to Automations in Settings by default. 2023-10-03_15-55-30-2

💡 Things to Consider

A model must first be mapped to TermSheet and uploaded to the workspace Files. 

Calculated fields coming from TermSheet should not be selected to overwrite calculated fields in Excel (or visa versa). Calculations should exist only in TermSheet or only in Excel, not both.

⚙️ Steps

Generate an Excel Model from a Deal in TermSheet

  1. Navigate to a deal.

  2. Select the ⁝ icon from the top right.

  3. Select Generate Underwriting Model. (Any Excel model template that has been uploaded to the account level files can be selected in the next step).

  4. Select a File from the dropdown, then select "Generate".

Create an Automation to Generate an Excel Model

  1. Select "Settings".

  2. Select Automations from the menu. (This may need to be enabled. Contact your customer success manager for access).

  3. Select "New Automation"

  4. Use the Automation modal to edit the name, trigger, and action associated with the automation. Then, select "Create Automation".
