These permissions are available to customers who would like to upgrade from basic permissions to access additional levels of access controls.
Configure Extended Permissions by setting up a Team Hierarchy first.
Next, use TermSheet defaults or create custom Permission Groups to apply to users across teams.
Understanding Teams
Workspaces enabled with Extended permissions will be able to create restrictions around the records that a user has access to based on their association with a Team affiliation.
The Root Team will have access to all records within the workspace. Teams nested under the root team will have access to a subset of the total records in the workspace.
Think of the Team access as nested circles where the team has access to any records within their circle by default, but does not have access to anything outside of their circle.
In the example above, Region-Wide Team users have access to records within Region 1, Region 1 Collaborators, and Region 2, but will not have access to all of the records that the GTRE Team (root folder) has access to.
Configure Permission Groups
Permission Groups will have a mix of on/off permissions and levels to permissions including:
- Everything - User can access any record regardless of Team affiliation.
- Team Only - User can only access records that are shared to their "Team"
- Created by User - User can only access records that they, themselves have created.
- No Access- Restricts users from viewing any records.
