Basic Permissions Descriptions

These permissions are available by default in all workspaces. These permissions are either enabled or disabled (on/off) to create permission groups that can be applied to users.

Workspaces enabled with Basic Permissions allows for basic on/off permission functionality where checkboxes grant or restrict access to actions within modules.

Extended permissions provide additional options to grant or restrict based on affiliation with a "team".

Deals

💡Things to Consider

Users with the Permission to Edit Deal Layout Templates can add or remove custom fields from the Offers panel.

Portfolio permissions are the same as Deal permissions in TermSheet. 

Users that are not granted access to all deals or all views can be added to specific views and deals via the + icon on the deal/view. add user

Any user with the Outlook Add In installed has access to add a new deal from the Outlook Add In.

Access Any Deal

When enabled, users can view, edit, delete any deal in the workspace. When disabled, users can only access deals that they have been specifically granted access to via the + icon. 

Access Any View

When enabled, users can view, edit, delete any view/pipeline in the workspace. When disabled, users can only access views/pipelines that they have been specifically granted access to via the + icon. 

Add Deal

Access to the "Add Deal" button and access to create new deals in the workspace.

'Add Deal' Form

Ability to add or remove fields on the "Add Deal" form.

Add Users to Deals

Ability to add users to deals to grant access to deals

Add Users to Views

Ability to add users to Views/pipelines to grant access to them views/pipelines. 

Control List View Columns

Ability to add or remove view columns.

Control 'Group By' Dropdown"

Allows users to change the "group by" dropdown on a view which groups deals by various deal fields.

Deal Contacts

Access to the Deal Contacts tab (access to add new contacts to the CRM via the Deal Contacts tab

Deal Custom Objects

Access to the Custom Objects tab when custom objects are present. (access to add new custom object records from the Deal)

Deal Details

Access to the Deal Details tab and any custom deal tabs

Deal Files

Access to the Deal Files tab (access to add, update, edit, delete deal files)

Deal Insights

Access to the Deal Insights tab (access to create compsets, view demographic data, view time series data -when enabled)

Deal Notes

Access to the Deal Notes Tab (access to add, update, edit, delete deal notes).

Deal Tasks

Access to the Deal Tasks tab (access to add, update, edit, delete tasks within a deal)

Deal Task Settings

Access to deal task settings to manage task roles, add new, edit or delete task lists

Deal View Settings

Access to the Deal Views gear icon which enables users to add/edit/delete Groups/Views. 
Delete a Deal Access to permanently remove a deal from the workspace. This cannot be undone. 

Edit Deal Layout Templates

Ability to configure deal layouts including editing existing layouts or creating new layouts. 

Edit Dynamic View Filters

Allows users to change filters applied to Dynamic Views.

Private Deal Tasks

Allows a user to see all deal level task lists, even those that have been marked private. 
Publish from Excel Allows a user to publish data into TermSheet deals via the Excel Add In. 

Share Deals

Ability to share deals outside of TermSheet via a link

CRM

💡Things to Consider

Any role with access to the CRM can add a deal and/or add a property from a contact or company record that they have access to. 

Any user who has access to a contact/company record can add or edit records on subtabs of the record (engagements, notes, tasks, etc). 

Label  Description

Access All Contacts/Companies

Allows users to view, edit, delete any contacts/companies in the CRM. When this is disabled, users can only view, edit, contacts and companies that they create. 

'Add Company' Form

Ability to add or remove company fields on the "Add Company" form

'Add Contact' Form

Ability to add or remove contact fields on the "Add Contact" Form. 

Add New Contacts/Companies

Ability to add new contacts/companies to the CRM. With this disabled, the Add Contact/Add Company buttons will be hidden.

Control List Columns

Ability to add or remove columns in contact/company views. 

Delete Contacts and Companies

Ability to delete contacts/companies from the CRM

Merge Contacts and Companies

Ability to merge contacts/companies to resolve duplicates. 

Tasks

💡Things to Consider:

The permission "Task List Collaborator" is assigned automatically to users who are invited to participate in Global task lists. This role will allow access to Global Tasks lists where the user has specifically been added.

Add Users to Global Tasks

Allows a user to add existing users or new users to collaborate on Global Task Lists. 

Aggregated Tasks

Ability to access Aggregate Tasks and view, edit, update any deal, contact, company tasks that are aggregated there if they have access to the associated deals, contacts, companies. (respects the user's access to associated objects). 

Aggregated Task Views

Ability to add new Task Views to the Aggregated Tasks module. 

Control Task List Columns

Allows users access to the eyeball icon to add or remove fields as column headers to any task views they have access to. 

Edit Task Detail Screen

Allows a user to be able to add or remove additional task fields to Task Details in the "Custom Fields" section. 

Global Tasks

Ability to access Global Tasks from the toolbar and view, edit, update public Global task lists. 

Global Task Settings

Ability to access Global Task Settings and add new task lists, edit or delete task lists. 

Private Global Tasks

Ability to view global task lists that have been marked as private
Task Approvals Ability to add users as approvers on a task

Task List Collaborator

The only permission needed for Global Task List Collaborators. This grants access to public Global Tasks and nothing else in the TermSheet workspace.

Access to the Custom Objects tab when custom objects are present. (access to add new custom object records from the property)

Add New Property

Access to the "Add Property" button and access to create new properties in the workspace.

Maps

Access All Maps

Access the Maps module from the TermSheet header. Access to all search, filters, layers, and features of the map module.

Edit Marker layouts

Ability to edit the fields that are on the pin markers. 

 

Reports

Users with access to reports turned on have the ability to create / delete reports or edit any reports.

Settings

As a best practice, keep permissions to workspace settings conservative.
